The joint 8th and 9th Convocation of IISER TVM was celebrated today in an innovative, virtual setting. The Convocation began with the traditional academic procession, which took place in digital form with 'avatars' of the Senate members. The students appeared online virtually to receive their degrees and medals. One of the highlights of this august occasion was the Convocation address by the Chief Guest Dr Soumya Swaminathan, Chief Scientist, WHO.
